I get referrals all the time from clients who previously booked sessions but Edie was one of the odd ones that was referred to me by a woman I had never met before! Having no prior contact or “get to know you” meetings I was pretty nervous to do this session. Who knew that Edie and I would instantly click! This session was filled with life chats in between yoga poses. Turns out we had a lot of similar experiences and were both travel bugs. I’m happy to call Edie my good friend + one of the best yoga instructors in Collingwood. You can book her classes at Sanctuari online.

Wasaga Beach Family Session // Chelsea + Parm

This beach inspired family photo session was the REALEST and I think the results speak for themselves. Families are always the hardest to photograph for me especially when I have to get the attention of TWO little ones. But when Chelsea contacted me about having them done my heart did little flip flops because Chelsea + Parm are the parents I aspire to be. They’re attentive + kind + willing to go with the flow + down to earth + honestly just cool. Those are my type of people!! This session came with its challenges. We cancelled once because Norah threw up all over her dress in the car on her way. Shoutout to my lactose intolerant friends! It was rescheduled to EASILY the hottest day of the year so we all just about melted during it with promises of popsicles to keep everyone enthusiastic for 45 min.

Like I said in my last post, NOTHING about family sessions are predicatable but that also makes them the most real and that realness is what I’m so excited to share with my families everytime.

Northwinds Beach Family Session // Britt + Iain

Sheesh! This sessions gives me all the feels. I never really thought I’d enjoy working with families because of the fact that I was intimidated by kids having none of my own (yet!) but the more I accept family sessions the more soft my heart gets. Family sessions are COMPLETELY unpredictable and I think they can be intimidating for mom + dad more than me. The easiest way to feel comfortable in front of the camera is to go into your family session with NO EXPECTATIONS. I promise you, I have seen it all: tantrums, grumpy faces, throw up, poopy diapers and now I always prepare for anything. I will NEVER put expectations on to you about the way your session SHOULD go. These photos are the way they are because I trusted Britt + Iain to take direction and interact with Bentley and they trusted me to do what I do best. I was completely hands off for this entire session and you can see in Bentley’s eyes just how stoked he was about it.

Britt + Iain, I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to shoot with.

Bet you didn’t know that I shoot A LOT of brands in addition to weddings and elopements! Welcome to one of the first sessions I’m blogging from the absolute best cider house in Ontario. This is Thornbury Cider and Brew House. The Blue Mountains, Ontario is filled with hundreds of budding entrepreneurs and small businesses so I encourage you to visit and support the hidden local guys (I can help you with that). It’s hard not to feel inspired here with the mountains on one side and the turquoise waters on the other so it’s time for me to start showcasing all the businesses I work with.

I was contacted by Thornbury Cider House on 3 separate occasions during the covid pandemic to schedule sessions for their many new announcements and offerings, which was so encouraging after going through my longest shoot drought ever. Ironically, I didn’t shoot cider at all during this session. This first one turned out so dang good I still go googley-eyed for their new Blue Mountain Light, lol! Enough of me talking, Blue Mountain Light is available in the Beer Store now so go get it or stop by Thornbury Cider House and try one of their many yummy bevies.

Pinery Provincial Park Engagement // Christine + Luke

This Pinery Provincial Park engagement session was the epitome of perfect. This whole session started when I got a call from one of my very first couple sessions Bria + Jens telling me that Bria wanted to book an engagement session for her best friend!! I love when this happens so much because Bria + Jens were such a joy to photograph and you are who you hang out with, right!? It was set but then corona happened…

Once everything started opening up we set off for the Pinery and at that time in June, it was so eerily quiet. We dodged the rain and showed up at the dock where Luke proposed to Christine. Then we headed through the forest to the sand dunes (literally the coolest landscape that Ontario has).

I feel blessed to have witnessed these two goof around, dance, playfully banter and cuddle up together in the sand. It was truly a pleasure and I encourage other couples to consider Pinery Provincial Park for their engagement sessions too.
