Adventurous Engagement Photos // Blue Mountain, Ontario

A day on the trails in Blue Mountain with the sun shining is a special thing especially when it includes an adventurous family photoshoot. Mel & Jorden reached out to me for adventurous engagement photos back in January. They got engaged by the lake so they wanted to incorporate an outdoorsy vibe and of course, Jorden’s daughter Lily. We didn’t end up shooting until March but I am so glad we waited. This was the first sunny day in a long time and the snow was still packed down which made the perfect backdrop. Lily was an absolute queen in front of the camera and Jorden & Mel were sweet as could be. Most photographers wouldn’t dare shoot in the conditions I was but I THRIVED. The lighting was so unique as the trees cast shadows all over the trails.

Thank you Mel + Jorden for your willingness to go with anything I threw at you. I hope to shoot for you again soon!

Casey and I met while working for the Ride to Conquer Cancer in 2015. The ride took us across Canada and we had traveled twice through the Rockies together where I think we both left our hearts. Over time we had drifted apart physically but Casey was always keeping in the know and reached out about brand photos when she heard I was taking on photography full-time. She had just graduated from Chiropractic College and was about to start her new personal practice. She reached out to me about brand photos AND a new website (yes, I do both full-time photography and part-time web design). Go creep it, it is gorgeous Dr. Casey Baker. Since I was lucky enough to be her web designer, our photoshoot in Collingwood was very efficient. We spent two hours at Mayka Studios with three models and one 3-month old to help bring her perinatal, postpartum and pediatric services to life. I was able to give her every photo angle and orientation that her website was missing and offer her over 40 images worth of content for social media. Casey is the most caring and down to earth human and I wouldn’t trust anyone more with my health than she. Casey is genuinely there to help women in South Georgian Bay on the journey that will change their lives forever and I can’t wait to watch. You can follow her at @drcaseybaker on Instagram.

Thank you Dr. Casey Baker for choosing me for your chiropractic brand photography. You are about to soar!

Alex and I met at an event in support of the organization that we both adopted our dogs from. We reconnected around Christmas time when she booked a session for her family as a Christmas gift to her mom. We met up at Rhododendron Gardens in Port Credit where she showed up with her family of 5 and 2 dogs! Turns out Alex had adopted a second dog from the organization HelpAWS since I’d last seen her. They were the best models.

Thank you Alex and family for your patience and loving each other with such sweetness. It shows.

Bria and I met at Western University. She was a residence advisor and I was just a student. We hadn’t chatted for years but I was so flattered when she reached out on a post on my instagram (@marie.exploring) announcing that I would be heading to Whistler! The moment I saw them I knew we were going to have fun. I greeted Jens and Bria in the parking lot of Whistler Village and we headed towards Lost Lake in December. I had heard about Lost Lake from locals who said the summer swimming was unbelievable there so it was on my bucket list. Little did I know, the best photos would happen amongst the trees that were perfectly dusted with snow.

Thank you Jens and Bria for your stunningly goofy love. I hope to do a couple’s shoot in Whistler for you again!

Cute Fall Family Photo Session // Guelph, Ontario

Cute Fall Family Photo Session // Guelph, Ontario

I met Tonya on Instagram. We both clicked immediately and bonded over our hair care routines. She reached out about getting professional photos taken in Guelph, Ontario and I knew that it would be special. We met up at Royal City Park and it was only magic thereafter. Her daughter and husband proved to be veterans in front of the camera. Took a bit of coaxing but a sleepy Blakely was smiling in no time. This was the most beautiful and relaxed fall photography session, just the way I like it.

Thank you Tonya, Trav and Blakely for your patience and loving each other with such sweetness. It shows.
