Don’t plan your wedding alone

The Destination Wedding Checklist

START HERE

12-18 Months

Choose a Wedding Destination in Mexico

Narrow down locations (e.g., Cancun, Tulum, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo, Riviera Maya).

Research weather and the best time of year (dry season: November–April).

Set Your Budget

Include travel, accommodations, wedding package, décor, food, and entertainment costs.

Hire a Wedding Planner or Skip it !

Opt for a local planner or a Mexico-based specialist for vendor recommendations and cultural expertise.

Research Marriage Requirements

Understand Mexico’s legal requirements (e.g., blood tests, documentation, residency).

Decide if you’ll do a symbolic ceremony in Mexico and handle legalities at home. This is way easier and my couples have raved about it!

Create a Guest List

Confirm an approximate headcount for travel logistics. I’ve photographed weddings with 10 people and weddings with 90 people, the best part about resort weddings is there is the flexibility you have and some resorts will comp your stay if you have over a certain number of guests.

Book Your Venue

Choose an all-inclusive resort, beach, or private villa that suits your style.

Ask about wedding packages and perks for group bookings.

Book Your Photographer

That’s where I come in! Do not choose the photographer from the resort. Your photos will turn out blown out with no character. This is your wedding, you deserve to have someone who will be documenting the candid moments of genuine hugs and tears so you look back and think “wow she captured moments I didn’t even know happened.”
